Leading the Way | Betsy Chapin Taylor
Story 40
As Adventist Health’s chief philanthropy officer, Betsy Chapin Taylor, FAHP, is instrumental in advancing opportunities across all Adventist Health foundations. Her passion, expertise and perspectives are highly valuable to the Adventist Health organization and are also widely recognized beyond our system communities.
We are thrilled to celebrate Betsy’s achievement of being the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy’s (AHP) 2021 Si Seymour Award recipient. One of the AHP's highest honors, this award recognizes distinguished leadership in association affairs and the healthcare philanthropy community.
Betsy has been a member of the AHP since June 1995 and holds the highest level of certification in health care philanthropy as a Fellow of the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (FAHP).
“Her contributions to healthcare philanthropy are rich and varied,” said AHP in a statement about the Si Seymour Award. “She has successfully worked to elevate the profession of philanthropy to other partners in the C-Suite of hospitals and health systems across the country. She is committed to developing thought-leadership content, which she shares with the profession and membership.”
Betsy holds an MBA from the University of Georgia and an MS of Journalism from Columbia University in New York. She serves as founder and CEO of the healthcare management consulting firm Accordant, which specializes in health philanthropy, health governance and community health.
In an announcement from Accordant, Betsy spoke of the award saying, “I am deeply honored to receive this extraordinary recognition from the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy. It has been a joy and privilege to spend my professional career advancing this noble work to elevate the health and well-being of people from all walks of life.”
