Rodney Eddi, MD
Story 165
On September 24, over 150 people gathered for the Once Upon a Time Gala, in Murphys, California, raising $160,500 for the planned Digestive Health Center at Adventist Health Sonora.
With groundbreaking scheduled for early 2024, the new facility will double the current capacity for important screenings like colonoscopies, reducing patient wait times and allowing physicians to detect and treat cancer and other life-threatening illnesses earlier.
The evening's program also included the presentation of the inaugural Distinguished Physician Award. This honor recognizes an Adventist Health Sonora physician who provides extraordinary patient care and demonstrates outstanding collegiality, kindness, and care for colleagues and the organization.
The award was presented to Rodney Eddi, MD, Adventist Health Sonora's gastroenterologist.
Inspired by his father, who encouraged him to pursue a medical career, Dr. Eddi has been practicing as a gastroenterologist at Adventist Health Sonora since 2013. His patients and staff appreciate his attentiveness and patience, often noting that he makes them feel respected, listened to and cared for.
"My mom is getting older, and I take her to every doctor's appointment," he says. "I get frustrated when I feel she doesn't get the attention she deserves. So, I try to remind myself, 'This could be my mom or my dad or my brother. How would I like them to be treated?'"
We invite you to watch the video created to honor Dr. Eddi at this special event.
Congratulations to Dr. Eddi for being named Adventist Health Sonora's Distinguished Physician of the Year.
